Scrimmage was a hardcore / thrash band formed in 2001 in Negotin. The first members were Predrag Vasiljevic - Cope, bass guitar, Branko Maric - Bane, rhythm guitar and Radivoje Anđelović - Pupe Raca, drums. They played for about a year, mostly others bands’ songs. However, they created some of their own, with the arrival of another guitarist, Darko Ruzic and the singer Ivan Stankovic (Rgi). They recored nine songs at the Vatrogasni Dom in Negotin, where they held their first gig. The guitar player Ruza then left the band, and Raca’s place was taken over by Dejan Andjelović - Pupe, his brother. With him, Peca, Bane and Rgi, the band recorded a new demo, with 14 new songs. After that, Pupe left the band, and was replaced by Dragan Sojević – Ganje. The band got another guitarist, Vladimir Scholtz, in November 2003. After a few months of work, the band decided not to play the old stuff, and in January 2004 they recorded the demo "W04" with three songs. Due to the bad quality of the recordings (song: "Dream", "Our Masks", "Fucked up, bigtime!"), Scrimmage never worked on its promotion. They held a gig at the Cultural centre in Negotin, at the “Susreti mladih” event, as a guest band. Then, due to the lack of equipment, a long and awkward pause followed. In September, the band continued to work, preparing new songs. In
February 24, 2005, Scrimmage held a gig in the packed hall of Muzicka Omladina in Negotin, and immediately after that, they performed at the “Hit 202" in Negotin. In March, they recorded a new demo with 4 songs (old "Dream", "Fucked up, bigtime" and two new songs "Sick, but my mind" and "Your pain is mine"). During the spring and summer 2006, Scrimmage had about 15 gigs, from club appearances to the big rock concert in the Sports Hall in Negotin where, as the opening band to Neverne Bebe, Scrimmage performed in front of more than 1,500 people.
